Frameshop: How the Right Talks "Guns" to Undermine the Debate
The author claims that the 'right' uses the gun issue to silence political debate. The one point he seems to really miss is that the left is just plain terrible on this issue, and it makes sense for the right to push an item that you can win with.
In response to LaPierre's claims that Democrats' interest in regulation is the cause behind gun violence, it is important to say that America is a nation of laws, not a nation of vigilante justice. Gun sports can be an excellent way to build character and teach kids responsibility, and hunting is a great American pastime. But concealed-carry guns warrant strict controls in a country governed by laws and law enforcement.
Vigilante justice is not shooting criminals in the commission of a crime. Vigilante justice is retribution. If the author really wanted open and honest debate about this issue he might check his facts a little bit first before insinuating the same 'wild west' talking points. Perhaps 'debate' is some kind of code word for redefining terms to your liking and then debating those.
Joe writes on gun rights and political issues. He is also the host of Boomershoot. I have had the pleasure of meeting Joe on several occasions (but he doesn't know my secret identity) and you would be hard pressed to find a better patriot or nicer guy.

They aren't interested in debate, this is simply information warfare.
The Second Amendment is not and never has been about putting venison on your table or building Johnny's self esteem.
Either they are willfully ignorant or they are being deceitful. Either way, they are not looking for meaningful debate.
