Heller is not going to be the end of the story. The jails are not going to open and release all of the people charged only with weapons violations. Police chiefs are not going to suddenly embrace CCW as an effective anti-crime strategy. California will not become "must issue."
What Heller will do is form the basis for future legal challenges. The winning strategy is going to be to nibble away at the petty bureaucracies, department policies, tiny dictators that regulate beyond their mandate. I hope that the NRA, SAF, CCRKBA, or GOA, is ready to stand up and be the pro-gun equivalent of the ACLU. I hope that these organization are pooling some money for a legal defense fund.
