Smart Guns

The idea behind 'smart guns' is that there is some technology that only allows the firearm to be fired by certain people.
#. This technology does not currently exist any practical form factor.
#. Electronics run on batteries. If the electronics don't have power then either the security system doesn't work or the weapon doesn't work.
#. Electronic tampering could bypass the security measures.
#. None of the 270,000,000 privately owned firearms in this country currently have this technology.

Joe writes on gun rights and political issues. He is also the host of Boomershoot. I have had the pleasure of meeting Joe on several occasions (but he doesn't know my secret identity) and you would be hard pressed to find a better patriot or nicer guy.
