This is a very reliable way to get a fire quickly. One of these should be part of every survival kit.

Currently my favorite pack. Expensive as all hell, but I have been using it for more that a year and it is still like new.
1300 cubic inches for the main bag. Good compression and stability. With the waist belt you don't really even need the should straps. I have Blackhawk utility pouches attached with SpeedClips. The pouches are a big help for keeping track of smaller items: First Aid kit, Weapons cleaning kit, GPS, Compass, Wet Weather Gear, and chow, leaving the main compartment free for mission equipment.
I am not sure if I am a fan of the SpeedClips or not. They seem to be about 1.5" too long, so I threaded some 550 cord through the holes at the top to keep them in place.
