I am tired of reading how citizens need to acquiesce to the demands of police. Frankly, what they really ought to be publishing is a guide on how to assert your rights and common ruses that police use to violate them.
The reason our rights are trampled as often as they are is because more often than not, our citizens don’t even know what their rights are, and they assume that the police are actually on their side.

as a practical matter you have very little recourse at the time of the situation. You can assert your rights, but if the police violate them there is no immediate action response. You have to fight it in the courts, after the fact.
If you are stopped, refuse consent to a search, but they search anyway and don't find anything, and finally release you what can you do? I will look into it further.
