I notice that you do not include options for destructive devices or other, more esoteric weapons (I’ve a buddy that never goes anywhere without a climbing axe).

You are quite astute. Perhaps we should have also included hand grenades and kusarigama, but we figured that anything out of the ordinary could be explained in the comments, or could be covered by one of the existing choices (for example, a “kosh” and a “truncheon” are both impact weapons and would fall into the same category as a baton).

Use of pepper spray and tasers are considered injuries. Safer (fiscally) to kill them.

You are so worried about being sued for causing minor injuries that you would rather just kill someone instead and risk not only much more severe criminal charges but a wrongful death lawsuit. You clearly have no understanding of the appropriate use of force. Your attitude could be summarized as “kill them all and let God sort them out”. Good luck with that.

Then it was determined that the moose just got pissed and the bears thought it was seasoning.

Determined by whom? Actual studies have been done on this, I suggest you read them before relying on bumper sticker wisdom.

Just as with bipedal predators, there is no magic solution that is guaranteed to work 100% of the time.

I notice that you do not include options for destructive devices or other, more esoteric weapons (I've a buddy that never goes anywhere without a climbing axe). Not that I actually carry destructive devices, but I do carry a couple of unusual weapons. Specifically; a kosh, and a truncheon (the truncheon usually stays in the car). These in addition to my carry piece and the blades.

A note about pepper spray, reality and the law (well non-leathal measures in general I guess). Where I live (Alaska) if you injure someone while they are commiting a crime against you (assault, burglary, homicide) they can sue you in civil court for damages resulting from the injury. Use of pepper spray and tasers are considered injuries. Safer (fiscally) to kill them.

Besides most people here who used to carry pepper spray did so for the bears and moose. Then it was determined that the moose just got pissed and the bears thought it was seasoning.

One has already (finally) mentioned the cell phone, so I can only add a digital recorder and a cane. If you get some kind of vest, it is far easier to carry the required gear without looking like batman, and you can even add some optional gear: digital camera, additional back-ups for all/any of the above.

Glock 17, check.
2-3 spare mags for the Glock, check.
Glock 26, check (shares spare mags with the 17).
Benchmade 710, check.
Cold Steel voyager X2, check (this is usually referenced by those that know I have it as "the pocket sword").
Surefire E2D, check.
Spare batteries for the E2D, check.
kubotan like device, check.
4 Large zip ties in belt loops, check (these can come in VERY handy).
Also, cellphone, keys, wallet, cash, change, and a bandanna.

My wife keeps telling me I need a purse, but it all fits in my jeans without notice. I just wish the gear was lighter.
