GE 51208 SmartHome Personal Security Keychain Alarm

“These are useless for their intended purpose, but can come in really handy with a little bit of creative thinking.”

I don’t have much faith in the idea that a personal alarm is going to bring people rushing to my aid, or do anything to deter an attacker. Simply putting a hand over the speaker is enough to effectively silence the alarm.

However, I cut the key chains off and replace them with a little string, thread, or fishing line and use them for alarming doors and windows when I am traveling. More expensive versions come with special switches for these applications, but I have never failed to find a way to tie one of these off to a door or a window.

I didn't realize. Thanks for the heads up.

I can really appreciate this way of thinking. Good idea.
  • This might just be IE being stupid (but I repeat myself), however, every time you have an image to the left of that grey-colore excerpt (possibly your blockquote code), the image gets lost under the grey background.

    Just letting you know :).
